Tell us about The Little Blog of Li Chi Pan and how you got started.
I started my blog a little over a year and half ago. I used it as a means of staying in touch with friends and family overseas. It was a great tool to keep my loved ones informed with my travels.
Was this always what you wanted to do or did it emerge over time?
I graduated from my Masters of Architecture last year and didn’t expect for my blog and Instagram to turn into a full time occupation. It happened quite gradually over a period of two years.
Tell us about the process involved in your content creation.
I am lucky to have diffused sunlight in my home and use a room as a studio to shoot majority of my content. My schedule is different everyday and the clients I shoot for are always varying. I like to brainstorm ideas on Pinterest before shooting and enjoy creating moodboards so I have a good direction of what I want to create. I shoot on a Canon for my blog and iPhone6 for my Instagram and bring in my images into Lightroom to touch up.
What/who has helped you in the process of following your dream?
My family has supported me from the very beginning of the entire process and I am extremely grateful for their constant encouragement. My agecny, MAXCONNECTORS has been a crucial part in allowing me to follow my dream. They always advise me on which clients to work with and have provided me with great opportunities in this industry.
What inspires you? OR Where do you go for creative inspiration?
How do you deal with criticism?
I try not to take criticism to heart but it’s difficult to do that when you put so much of yourself into your work for the public to judge. I always focus on the positive energy and support I receive from my followers and to focus on the good.
What is it that you love about what you do? OR Why do you love what you do?
I love the people that I get to meet on a daily basis. I’ve met so many inspiring creatives through this industry. I love to create content which brightens up peoples day!
What advice would you give to aspiring artists?
Work hard and be patient, nothing worth having comes easily.
What have you learned in the process of following your dream?
Dream big and push yourself. If your dreams don’t scare you, they aren’t big enough!
