What/who has helped you in the process of following your dream?
I would say my parents the most, my dad especially, who always supported things I did, and always believed I was capable of doing something good. As a kid, I was kind of chubby and when I started playing tennis, I did not even knew how to walk, not to mention anything else J But, he saw in me a kid that was willing to work and sacrifice. He never missed my practices and he always took me to tournaments. That is how I become No.1 player in my country under the ages of 10, 12 and 14. I will always be thankful to him for everything he has done for me. My mom has also been a great help in my life as her words were always more cautious and sometimes a wake up call to make me see the things more clearly.
I will not forget my girlfriend, who 100 % supports the things I do and assists me in making them better.
What inspires you? OR Where do you go for creative inspiration?
My family, friends and all the nice people around me. My grandma especially. I am happy to have a family and friends who I love and who love me. I am proud of my brothers, of my girlfriend and many of my friends who are doing great jobs all around the world. They are my biggest inspiration and their love makes me stronger.
What challenges have you encountered and how have you overcome them?
There were few, but I guess it would not be fun if everything went so smoothly in life. I try not to worry too much as I believe everything in life happens with a reason so those things we are dealing with at certain points that seem like the worst things in the world are there for reason. God will never give as something if he believed we could not handle it.
What message are you trying to share with your work?
To be positive, to pursue your dreams and not to let anybody from stopping you from doing the things you love. Imagine if every day you have to wake up and do something you hate? Who wants to live like that? Just find something that makes your heart beat slow and fast at the same time (that is not your girlfriend or boyfriend) and you will be a happy person. Also, do not be selfish. Share your knowledge with the world as this is the only way people will share their knowledge with you. There is nothing greater if sharing the things you know can make other people happy.
How do you deal with criticism / How did you learn to deal with criticism?
In the beginning, it was tough. I always believed I was nice to all the people and I saw no reason someone would criticise me. Man I was wrong. You just have to know there are always to be haters and people who do not like no matter what you do. Listening to them is the worst thing you can do. Focus on yourself. When they criticise you it is because you are doing something. You know how they say “A cloud of dust follows a good horse”
What is it that you love about what you do? OR Why do you love what you do?
Well mostly because I can be creative and to the things on my own may, no matter it is good or bad. Alibaba founder, Jack Ma said, when you are 25, do not worry, make mistakes, because any mistake is a revenue. All the projects I do, of course they could be done much better with the team of experts but I do not care. I like it cause I do it my way, and I make my own mistakes. I know I have much more to learn but learning on your own mistakes is the fastest way to learn
What advice would you give to aspiring creative people looking to do something similar?
Just believe in what you do. I honestly believe that no matter what you do; if you are plumber, electrician, cook, tennis coach or a project manager in MNO, if you believe in what you do, if you work hard and most of all if you like what you do, you will be successful, it just takes time. I do not know anybody who worked a lot and was good and something that did not found a good job or now has a successful company. It is good if you know what you love in life and to know what you are passionate about. If you know that, than it is all up to you.
What advice would you give yourself if you could go back?
Do not believe to people too much. People promise many things, but in the end, not many of them will happen. I should have been more cautious some times, but then again, I think I learned this lesson quite young so I am thankful to those people for that J
What are you most excited for in the future?
Having a Bernard with my wife one day J Realizing other ideas I have planned I which I think could go very well if done properly. I am also looking forward having two kids, some small house with a cute garden where I could cultivate all sorts of rare plants, seeing my friends in years to come, officiating a tennis match where Novak Djokovic will play, visiting Brazil…
