When did you decide to follow this path and why?

We have both always been drawn to music in one way or another. The older we got the more we slowly made it our lives. Sure, we always had the idea in our heads that we wanted to do this as a life style but we never quite gave it the full commitment it needs until a couple of years ago. (although we always thought we were giving it our all) The why part is easy.. Music is all we ever think about and talk about, we are clearly obsessed with it. So what else would we do? Get a job that I don’t like and be miserable? I choose music haha

Did you always feel different in any way?

I personally always felt very different when I was younger because I was surrounded by people that didn’t understand music or really care for it.

How did you break free to follow your dream and who helped you in the process?

A- I guess law of attraction is responsible for this. With it always being the only thing I talked about and tried to do, I eventually attracted like minded people who all shared an equal obsession with me haha eventually every one of my friends were either musicians or young industry workers. All the musicians and songwriters I knew were all so far advanced than I was and all the industry workers had a lot of knowledge in their brains and so this really fast tracked my learning of both these things. So I guess the point I’m trying to make is always surround yourself with like minded people and never try to be the best at what it is that you wanna be in your group! And by that I mean, always find new people to look up to and keep you motivated to do better and you will always be learning.

Did anyone know about your dream?

Everybody I came in contact with haha I was never afraid to tell people

Did anyone question your choices? If so how did you deal with this?

A few people over the years tried to put negativity in my mind about me chasing my dream but I don’t let that stuff get me down. It usually comes out of either jealousy because a lot of people don’t have the balls to chase their dreams and you chasing yours reminds them that they gave up on theirs or they are afraid that they will lose you and they want you to stay around and be their friend. You are the only one that you can blame if you give up, not someone else. So follow your own heart always.

Do people call you lucky and how do you respond to this?

Haha well lets get one thing straight. I am far from conquering my dreams. I am on a journey that is still going and who knows how far it will go but.. for the people that have called me lucky for whatever reasons I usually reply- Sure, it has all been a bit of luck for sure. Disguised as a lot of hard work. If you’re in the right place at the right time it usually means that you have aligned yourself with your ultimate definite purpose and situations and people will present themselves. If you constantly work and keep at it and never slack off, then you will always be in ‘the right place at the right time’ so it will appear as luck to other people.

What blocked your success and how did you overcome this?

Partying. Partying way too much was blocking it for a long time. I now rarely party because I’m always working toward my dream. It’s like I was always celebrating prematurely. What was I celebrating? Surely not success? It took me a long time to break out of that and whip my ass into gear. WORK now PARTY later. When you have achived something worth celebrating.. That’s my advice anyway huh

What stopped you from giving up?

I’m gonna have to quote Kanye here. For me, giving up is way harder than trying. And why would anyone give up what they love doing? We don’t give up working our shitty jobs? We don’t give up drinking too much or beating ourselves up every day with the weight of the world so why give up on the one thing you love? Give up the other things that don’t make you happy. Not the one thing that you love!! It seems simple to me 🙂

How did you overcome sharing your work?

I have never had a problem sharing my work haha I’m always too proud of myself! Showing people song ideas just as a demo instead of waiting for the final product haha I just can’t help myself.

How do you deal with criticism?

Tell myself that they are wrong and they don’t get it hahah nah. I don’t think I’ve learnt that yet. Still trying.

What inspires you?

Humanity inspires me. The world is such a beautiful place and I want to be a part of it’s creative growth.

Where do you go for creative inspiration?

That will always vary. It can come from anything or anyone in any given moment.

What are you most excited for in the future?

What advice would you give yourself if you could go back?

Nothing. Ever heard of the butterfly effect? I’m not messing with the past man hahah

What advice would you give to aspiring artists looking to create the life of their dreams?

Believe in yourself. If you know what you wanna do then know that we as humans all have equal ability to be great. Each and every one of us! So do it and never stop. If you do that, then you will get it.
